As an artist and educator Maurice has made a significant contribution to art practice and education.
He is a recognised and successful artist, being commissioned for major public artworks in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, where he has also exhibited in public and private galleries. For nearly twenty years he has worked to address issues of belief, ethnicity and political tension through his sculpture. Working in public locations, he has made works which explore themes connected to social, historical and cultural identity.
