Over approximately 300 young filmmakers and animations gathered in the Brunswick Moviebowl (Wednesday 23rd of November) for the annual CCEA Moving Image Arts Showcase and Awards Ceremony, in association with Foyle Film Festival. Two pupils from St Columb's College were successful in obtaining prizes.

Congratulations to Louis Kerr, presently year 13 who won 1st place, GCSE Best Film out of Northern Ireland at this years CCEA Moving Image Arts Showcase. Louis was also shortlisted for a recent competition held in the Belfast QFT and has just submitted a film to Miami for yet another competition. He was taught last year by Mr Martin Meenan.

Also congratulations to Louise Adair, a past year 14 pupil from Foyle College who won 2nd place, A2 Best Film at this years CCEA Moving Image Arts Showcase, also. Louise is presently studying film in London and is a past pupil of Ms Orla Gallagher.

Both pupils were interviewed by the BBC and will hopefully continue to be rising stars in the future.
