ScreenWorks, supported by Northern Ireland Screen, will provide work experience opportunities for 450 young people aged 16-19 across a wide range of craft and technical areas within the creative screen industries (including Production, Animation, Make-Up, Games Design, Costume, Visual Effects and Sound).
Across the five screen industries (Film, Television, Animation, Gaming and VFX) there are over 250 unique job roles. ScreenWorks will serve as a starting point for young people to learn about these roles in detail and offer practical experiences of what working in the screen industries will entail. A number of ScreenWorks programmes will be of particular interest to students of STEM subjects – such as upcoming programmes in Visual Effects and Production Accountancy.
The ScreenWorks webpage – click here - lists the first 18 available work experience programmes and we are currently inviting applications for each of these.
There are a limited amount of places on our first two programmes of the year – VFX and Journalism – which take place later this month.
All programmes are entirely free and travel bursaries are available to help any participants travel to programmes in different cities or towns.
For any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch or speak with Mrs O Gallagher in the MIA Department of St Columb's College.
I look forward to hearing from you and to welcoming your students to any of our exciting programmes.
