Peace survey

The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Michaela Boyle, presents St Columb’s College student, Bobby Deane with a £150 Gift Voucher for Claudy Cycles after he was successfully selected from 645 survey participants who recently completed the Peace IV Big Youth Survey.

The aim of the survey was to gather the views of a wide representation of young people in order that the results can be used to shape a Youth Manifesto that will be delivered by the newly formed NW Ministry of Youth.

The NW Ministry of Youth is made up of 35 Youth Councillors who have the opportunity to become leaders in promoting equality and tackling discrimination.  Youth Councillors will vote on the allocation of a £24,000 budget to deliver the Youth Manifesto, priorities that young people have put forward as important to them.
