Admissions Criteria Overview

In June 2020 the Board of Governors decided that St Columb’s College would not use academic criteria for admission to Year 8 in September 2022.

The Governors made this decision having reflected on the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 crisis, the considerable disruption that this was having on the education of pupils then in Primary 6 and the possibility of further disruption for these same pupils as they moved into Primary 7.

The Board of Governors has, therefore, temporarily amended its Admissions Criteria for the 2022-2023 academic year.  The full criteria are available by clicking the link below.

St Columb’s College is a focused, progressive and highly successful learning community, one with a strong reputation as a provider of high quality teaching and learning. We hold the highest of expectations of all of our pupils and we will work with them to achieve academic success as they flourish within the outstanding pastoral framework provided by our school.

Above all, we are determined to ‘promote in each pupil, through Catholic education, the fullest Christian human development of which he is capable’ and we will work in partnership with our parents, guardians and carers to make this a reality.
